peanut butter dreams.

Adam calls me the sleep connoisseur. He gave me this name because my sleep is very important to me. I either have the best nights sleep of my life, or the worst.
Last night was awful.
I woke up in a panic because I thought someone was choking me to death--I had a terrible terrible sore throat. So bad, it hurt to speak. Swallowing just about killed me.
There wasn't a cough drop in sight and I was thiiiis close to marching into the nearest drug store wearing only my jammies demanding some meds while gasping for air.
lets take a moment and try to picture that, shall we?
lovely.

AnYwAy....
Before I could even lift my head off the pillow-Adam was already on the computer searching "at-home remedies for sore throats."

I was not being an over dramatic princess. I was DYING people.

To my delight, it turns out a remedy for sore throats is a tablespoon of peanut butter. now we're talkin'

We might not have any cough drops, medicine, or cough syrup on hand, but you can always count on the Buies for some peanut buttah! Sheesh. I was just waiting for him to add a tub of vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce to the list-and hey! this sore throat business wasn't so bad! but that wasn't the case. just peanut butter.

lets face it. i was *h** u **n **g **r **y.

So at 3:30 a.m. this morning I poured myself a cup of steaming pomegranate tea and enjoyed a whopping tablespoon of peanut butter in bed. It was like a tea party for two. well one. husband was zonked out by then.

moral of the story: sore throats aren't so bad after all.

Sorry you are sick Erin - Adam is your personal male nurse for the duration of your illness. (Let your imagination run wild with that one!) My grandmother and mother always gave me a tablespoon of cream to "coat the throat" whenever it was sore. It worked for a while - but really what it did was get me addicted to cream - which explains why my cholesetrol count is over 200. Stick with the peanut butter - at least it has good fat in it!
