The name of this post was about to be "Chloe, Crab, Cake, and Casey", but that sounded a little....strange. Last Thursday we had a Birthday extravaganza for MauREEN, and it was SO much fun having everyone come over and celebrate, as well as play with the new pup, Chloe. Casey even surprised her by flying in from DC! We love you MOM! And we looooove little nugget Chloe.
The other night I had a dream I was participating in the "Dead Man's Marathon". It took place in some Egyptian city and consisted of running, swimming through mud, and hiking pyramids (Is that even possible??) Anyway, running the marathon with me was my family and Adam. Once we crossed the finish line I remember feeling such a strong sense of accomplishment-I was completely out of breath, hunched over with my hands on my knees, and I look up to see my Mom sitting there in a chair, as if she had already finished the race.
"Did you finish already?!" I said, trying to catch my breath--
"NO!" she replied, "this guy over here kicked me out half way because he said I was too OLD".
Then I woke up. I thought it was funny, but I don't think MauREEN will think its funny. Mom, I hope you have a great Birthday- and remember, you are never too old for ANYTHING---but i'm really sorry you missed rock climbing up the pyramids, that was the funnest part ;)
So after about 10 minutes of drooling over these beds, I was looking at their website and realized there is a store literally 5 minutes down the street from my work that carries this line. Can I take an early lunch break???
I love hobnail. I could just eat it. And i'm proud of myself--I didn't start obsessing over it because everyone else and their dog was blogging about it-I found it BY. MY. SELF.Thiswedding gift would make me do back flips to San Diego and back. Please oh Please anybody out there, I will make you endless cakes and tarts and hosts birthday parties for dayzzz for you if you purchase this ever-so-lovely cake stand for me. And when i'm not baking, I will use it as :
a. a candle holder. b. a seat for when i'm tired. c. a dumbell. d. a small dinner table for 2.
Juuussstt Kiiiidddingg.....I wish. This is actually the house Adam grew up in when he was little, and YES, it is for sale, and YES I want to buy it like nobody's bizness, and YES it is in the most perf location, and YES I am a starving student (minus the student part) and YES...this does not compute ;( Boo.
I fell in love with it tho and you can bet your sweet bum as Adam was driving away from it I had my hands and face pressed against the car windows screaming, "NNnnoooo!!!!!!!! Waahhaahaa!Nooo!!!!!!!!"
Please Bless I will have a little house like this. Before little children nuggets come along. Err....yes, PLEASE bless.
I love vintage-inspired/eclectic pillows, (or Pellows I should say- I am from Utah). If you saw my bed you'd have an idea of what i'm talking about. I nearly choked on my tea this morning when I saw how stinkin' inexpensive these pillows were. I'm hesitant to put where they're from, cuz i'm afraid they'll sell out.Ok, FINE. p.s. how did I never hear of THIS??!! It's right up my alley.
So lets get something straight. I LOVE camping. LOVE IT. I love it so much in fact that one summer the BF and I pitched a tent in my parent's backyard and spent most summer nights out there. We even brought a TV, rented a ton of random movies we had never heard of, brought in food, lamps, tarot cards, you name it. OK-so I guess that doesn't count as camping, but I love roughin' it just as much. I guess I just love tents. I think they are soooo cozy, and you can bet your sweet bum I was makin' forts all the time in our living room growing up. This also reminds me of a Story. When Emily and I were in Highschool, we wanted to be camp counselors SO BAD. But it had to be somewhere cool-like on the East Coast, or somewhere that has those cool docks on the lake where there is always mist around it in the morning, ya know? Somewhere very Parent Trap-ish. So we were dead serious and started researching Summer Camps all over the U.S. of A. We found this one in Maine, called them up, and got a recording to a place called, "Camp Mumba-woo-Jumba". Or something like that. It was hilarious. We never did pursue our dreams of being camp counselors, but it is something i've always regreted. Anyway, I love this stationary oh-so-much. Maybe somehow I can make these my invitations and have a camp-themed-wedding. ooohhhh...don't get me started...
This post has been delayed due to his recent trip to Italy on his BIRTHDAY, but don't think I wasn't going to post anything--HaPpY bIrThDaY tO mY tRoYbOy. After meeting on the school bus in middle school, you have become one of my Besties and are like an older brother to me. Thank you for all the fun drives, breakfasts at Little America, talks on the roof, camp-outs on the tramp, trips to Disneyland, and ridiculous videos. You have been such a big part of my life and i'm so grateful to have you in it. Happy Golden Birthday! Love ya! xo, E
