Dearly Bee-loved,

A family member made the cake for this wedding and I thought the bee-theme was oh-so-appropriate for this couple who met in Utah.

Orangerie

Dear Bride,
I want to personally thank your family for not making me take apart every lantern or fold every umbrella after you drove off with your hubby into the sunset. Cuz honey, you used a lot.

Hydrangea your heart out

A mix of hydrangeas, bells of Ireland, chrysanthemums and cymbidium orchids made this wedding super coooool. I had a little fun with my work's camera--so the hydrangeas weren't really that cookie-monster blue. I wish.

p.s. I'm working the EmmyLou Harris concert tonight, so I will post some pics of that + more concerts to come :) Get the concert line-up HERE.

Good Luck, Prosperity, Wealth & Happiness

Wedding favors are wierd. Do you give them out, or don't you? And what do you give out?! They're always so tacky. When I was little, my cousin gave out those pastel colored chocolate mints in the shape of hershey kisses (you know what i'm talking about), and I ate so many I puked. Really. So that's what comes to mind when I think of wedding favors. But I like this idea, I do. Little bamboo shoots. I mean, c'mon-who doesn't like bamboo?! And, they don't make you puke.

Another day at the office....

Centerpieces by Decoration Inc.
I liked the arrangements on the tables....again, I don't know if I would do this, but it's nice to see something different. Something other than roses. Roses are so 1992.

Cake by Liberty Heights Fresh in Salt Lake City
The cake! I love this!! Somebody knows how to think outside the box! This bride gets three gold stars in her forehead. Way to go sistah.
Everyday at work at least 42 people ask me what all the different types of flowers are. Instead of trying to remember the names of all 20,000 plants (yes, there are 20,000), I decided that I would make up my own names for them. For example, this plant is called an "Alium", but when visitors come to the garden and ask what it is, I simply say, "the Dr. Suess flower". And they believe me.

Red Butte

I have such a great job. One of the perks of working the events up at Red Butte Garden is that I come home almost EVERY night with bouquets and bouquets of flowers! There ain't nothin' better than having fresh flowers in your home every day....nuh uh. Even better, I know EXACTLY what I want to do for my wedding....i'm eloping. heehee. I figured since I see sooooo many different events/weddings/bar-mitzvahs/memorials/parties/ceremonies/ you name it--every week, I figured i'd let you in on what goes on at work every day, because I PERSONALLY think Red Butte is a little hidden treasure ;) Everything I post isn't necessarily what I would do for my wedding, but fun to look at none the less. If anything, this is a great way to advertise Red Butte for YOUR wedding! Wait....you're all married....
